Welcome, and please make yourself comfortable and stay a while. I would like to tell you a little about why I wrote this book. But first I would like to ask you a question. It may seem like a strange question since we just met, but here goes.
Have you or someone you know ever struggled with childhood sexual molestation, or homosexuality, or drug addiction, or HIV/AIDS? Sadly, I bet your answer is "yes" and I hope and pray that you will read my book. I found myself dealing with all four of these issues wrapped up in one person--my son.
This is a true story, told from my heart, of how these issues impacted not only me and my son, but our entire family. I am not a professional writer or author. I am an ordinary mom who found myself in circumstances beyond my control when my gay son became involved in these very destructive behaviors which eventually led to his death. This may sound like a sad story, but please stay with me.
I watched in horror as my once gentle, kind, loving son became an angry, hateful, strung out drug addict. Coupled with his gay lifestyle, a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS soon followed. As his life spun out of control so did mine. I reached a point of complete despair and hopelessness. The future looked so dark to me that I did not want to go there.
BUT GOD powerfully rescued me and gave me the strength to go forward by His beautiful love and faithfulness. This is a story of victory, of God's redemption and how He can strengthen us during times of extreme suffering and loss. It is a book of learning to rejoice in the Lord always, of hearing the voice of God, feeling the hand of Jesus, and experiencing the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord reached into the darkest of places and found a mother and her son who needed Him desperately.
My desire in writing this book is to bring God glory by sharing my heart and His love and faithfulness with you. |
